Wooden whiskey barrels have long been favored as planters and while they look great, they don’t have good drainage — if they’d drained all that whiskey out it would have been a problem, right? And poor drainage then leads to rotten wood and plant roots. This innovative barrel planter from VegTrug® keeps the traditional aesthetic we love, but adds a vented polypropylene base that not only promotes drainage but also allows water to wick up thorough the soil from the saucer reservoir.
